Someone didn't check the surge forecast!! Ferry Quay at Woodbridge. The EA guys who were standing by at the tide gate ready to close it if the level rose too far told me it belonged to a local fisherman.
The NTSLF surge forecast for Sheerness at HW was only 0.5m but tide gauges around the estuary show that was a serious underestimate. Fortunately the peak of today's surge is forecast for around the time of LW.
