Oh dear - reminds me of the time I did that on my 21' Chaparal with the anchor in Studland!
- it was my first time out, and never forgotten the "V" when coming back to the boat from the beach. Boat was sold with it as was!
Thanks for reminding me how stupid...................never did it again though !

Maybe he'd spotted a small kink in the rail that he was trying to pull out?

Well...its obvious why. So the bow can be pulled down lower to allow an easier step on board....
