For those of you that know Guernsey, The herm Ferry (Trident) ran into Gate rock off Herm in poor visibility on Saturday night with a couple of hundred people on board. No one was hurt and all passengers transferred to the other Trident safely, but an unpleasant experience by all accounts.

Did the driver has his special night vision developed by Guiness?

I wouldn't know about that, but I still can't work out how it hit the port hull on Gate rock! unless he turned completely round on himself and tried to go the wrong side of it.

Someone here was on board and said that they went the wrong side of alligande on the way over and had to double back.

It sounds like some severe technical problems to me, the accident report should make interesting reading.

Aren't these the guys who give us amateurs the Navigation trips round Guernsey, Herm and Sark showing us how to miss the rocks??
