Ooops, something tells me thats gonna be expensive!!!!!!

unbelievable selfish, you'd have thought the cameraman would have run around there and threw a bucket of water on the fire ;)

looks awful and hope the owners weren't still on the boat at the time

might of been cheaper just to open seacocks and flood it !!!!!!!........either way someone has a big headache to sort out .." it was HIS fault .. not mine" etc etc etc = ££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Apparently damage is said not to be severe - after all that 'cooking' and 4+teams of firefighters......

"Four teams of firefighters, with the help of the nautical team forces who approached the fire from the sea, plus Svs volunteers, extinguished the flames. It seems no one was on board the yacht at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported and damage is said to not be severe. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

i dont think even i could polish that out, i do have some rather pleasant smelling orange oil based cleaner though. Shame to see any boat go up like that.

Sunseeker had a similar case a couple of years ago. IIRC Mexican client had sent crew to Poole to familiarise with the boat. Day before he flew in to collect it boat was on the hard. Big lightning strike set it alight while crew watched helplessly in horror from hotel across the road.
Complete burn-out.
Reason given for destruction was that there is (was!) a conductor plate on the bottom of the hull, which should have been earthed to the dockside - but wasn't.

Some doubt as to who owned at the time. Insurers in "not us, mate" exchange and lawyers getting excited.

Anyone know the outcome?
