Hi
Would like to visit York as a good pal is working there for a while, any idea what kind of distance is it from the river Tyne and do you know if there would be enough air draught for a flybridge to visit, it would be great to go down for the weekend.
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike
Ye, have not been up your way for a few years, but if I remember right, Hartlepool is approx 120 miles from Hull Marina, then York is another approx 50 miles which you can go up on the tide.
Bridges at Goole (swings) Boothberry (swings) then 3 at Selby and one at cawood.
Depending on the tide time and your speed (and air draft)you may or may not need the first 2 to open, we normally leave Hull marina on near high water, and cruise at 26 knots to Goole where the speed limit starts, and we have a 4 metre draft and we do get under ok with plenty of room.
Selby you will need the railway and the road bridge in the centre swung, and depending on airdraft the new road bridge.
Then its a nice steady run to York (Cawood you will need opening aswell)
The bridges keepers are all very good and helpful on chanel 9.
There are several bridges on the route to York but these should be ok, (There is a Squadron 47 which can get through them all.

I'll send you a pm with my number for if I can be any more help

Regards

ians
