ooer this is getting serious

Rightyho, so I posted about a 49 foot catamaran I'd had a sail on, and you immediately responded rather brutaly to the effect you don't like them.

Then, from the vantage point of having a twenty SIX foot macgregor against a oho! (you thought) 23 foot leopard you leapt at the chance to do a bit of now-then-laddie therapy on me and ask "why?" and doled out some pearls of wisdom.

Now, it turns out that the leopard is 23metres long and the possible catamaran isn't a replacement, but you still have no comment on the cat cos (i'm guessing) you haven't been on anything like it or even seen one and shouldn't really have jumped on the thread as quickly as you did.

Is that a fair summary of the thread so far?

Either way I think we are at risk of arguing symantics. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

[/ QUOTE ]not really, i was simply trying to help you realise the facts rather than making assumptions. tcm has summarised the thread quite well - I will leave you to it.

ur, i thought you might say that. It was ok with it not being tilty, honest. And suppose even when a tilty boat is tilted you try and make yourself level? Also we bombed past a 311, upwind...

The interior layout is comprised of four double cabins and four heads with showers which will accommodate eight guests with ease.

Are you sure this is what you really want? Think of the rants.....

"The pressurised gin-n-tonic was at a wholly unacceptable temperature. It's high time he got his Eberspacher fixed...."

"It's altogether the wrong collection of anchors..... Doesn't the guy ever read his own posts...?"

"It's all very well, but beans-on-toast doesn't seem to fit well with the new image..."

To thine own self be true.

The fruit bowls are indeed nailed down and you don't sailwith the tenty bits up, they're just for shade.

I spose i have resigned myself to NOT having a boat people go oh what a pretty boat. But for that it wd need to be varnishy, teak decks and blue hulls and i have realised i am too lazy (or that summink else will bust as well and i will fixing and cleaning the thing full time and am defintely too lazy for that).

Anyway, if i'm onboard the thing i won't have to look at it i suppose.

Damn!

Oh heck, a mcGregor owner who is being all reasonable about it! I was really looking forward to massive windups and you being like some other Mc26 owners (specially americans we've had a year or two back) who eologised about how they are incredibly seakeepy etc. blah.

You were a teensy bit brutal tho and i bet you didn't *really* look up the leopard until after your first response though eh?

Anyway i just left it as a lep 23 about a year ago partly to be not showoff but also just incase somebody got snared in the metres/feet ambiguity and you were (very nearly) the first victim, so now I'll have to wait for several more months or even another year until the hunting season begins again. I oughta be on that Planet Earth programme, me.

<sigh>

Well FWIW I think it's an amazing boat and would probably suit you to a T. What a lot of berths there are. I also think you are a wonderful human being and probably one of the finest skippers I've ever met.

Need I go on?
