Onwa 708A AIS Plotter

I have one of these and have installed K Charts for my area. The charts are ok but do not have the same level of detail that Navionics have on their Android app.

Navionics charts can be used but cost about £150
So looking for some feedback on using Navionics charts on Onwa plotters.

Why would you think Navionics would be any different on the Onwa to any other plotter that can run Navionics ?

I have recently bought a Onwa KM8 plotter and AIS transponder. Am using Navionics. Happy enough but the tidal info you get on the app doesn’t show on Gold. I’m told Imray does a good job of a showing tidal flow. However, no first hand experience.

Haven't tried using Navionics on my 708A, and yes I agree that the K charts are pretty clunky.

K Charts come in vers 2 and vers 3 ..... vers 3 are really only for the later higher processor spec'd units as vers 3 requires a lot more memory and processor.

I have both vers able to load on my 39A .... and TBH - vers 2 is more than enough ... I have compared the detail to various other formats - Navionics CM93v3 etc. and for our purposes find K charts fine. I agree that you don't get tidal and 3D data ... but I don't need those anyway ..
