Yes! We caught a smallish tuna as we approached Las Palmas. Into the bucket head first (didn’t need the gaff) To the great amusement (and frustration) of all it unhooked itself and jumped out of the bucket and onto the side deck and back into the sea.

A small syringe with isopropyl squirted into the gills would have solved that almost instantly.

You can also use gin or vodka, but why waste such valuable provisions?
