When a Southwest Airlines flight attendant tried to get passengers to sit down for takeoff in 2001, she called out on the intercom "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe; pick a seat, we gotta go!" Two black women passengers said the rhyme was racist and filed a federal lawsuit against the airline, claiming civil rights violations. The young flight attendant said she had never heard the racist version of the rhyme. After a two-day trial -- and just one hour of deliberation -- the jury ruled the two women, who are sisters, did not suffer discrimination. After the ruling the sisters claimed they were discriminated against again -- by the jury. "If we had jurors of our peers, then we would have won the case today," claims plaintiff Grace Fuller, who said the flight attendant's remark caused her to have a seizure, leaving her bed-ridden for three days. The case took about three years from incident to dismissal.

And another one..

An eight year old school boy has been excluded from school.
His offence was to kiss a girl (fellow pupil) on the cheek during a game in the playground.

His crime ? Sexual harrassment.

(Heard it on the radio today - think it was in Missippi)

Re: And another one..

I have heard in Skools here that you can no longer call it a blackboard as it is racist, I am not sure which bit, black because traditionally they are black or boards because people get offended by the term board!

So, my learned friends, if you are planning on using a white board in your next meeting I will claim that I have just siezed and fitted for three days and sue you.

I don't know how the hell I am going to buy black paint in the future, maybe by the 256 computer colour shemes, can I have a tin of 0,0,0. But NO, computer programmers and geeks will probably find that offensive.

Dear 'divine type of no particular religeous persuation' please help us, as we are well and trully screwed!

It's a mad world, isn't it!

I guess the Americans have watch their conversations when commuting to work - God knows what sort of law suit would come out of a conversation like "Her bottom was filthy this year but I gave her a bloody good wash down & scrubbed her off and she looks as good as new!
