I thought everyone might be interested in this Sailing Guides site: CaptainWiki.com. It seems it could be really beneficial to everyone if we all pitched in. The site is non-commercial and open to everyone. It would be nice to be able to use this site on my next trip to find notes and tips from cruisers that are local to my destination.

The problem with Forums and Bulletin Boards is that really helpful information gets buried quickly. Using this Wiki site is a way to make a real, permanent and accessible contribution to the sailing community. I'll be adding my local knowledge and hope to see you there!

Cheers!

I think you meant www.skipper2skipper.com

And there's another wiki around too, with the same aims (sorry, I've lost the URL)

I'm blowed if I'm going to post to all three, so I'll hang around a bit to see which (if any) emerges as the winner. Meanwhile I note that the current site lists interesting cruising countries such as Switzerland and Leichtenstein . . .

Maybe you mean SkipperGuide.com, the original one /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
(started a year ago as german version and is also available as international version since a couple of weeks)

However, the aim is slightly different: just to be a good cruising guide, not to be an sailing wiki about all topics of sailing.
