My main interests in life have always been aircraft, boats and I surpose kebabs :) and have always wanted to watch a seafront air show from my boat on the water, well this weekend I ticked that one off the bucket list. We travelled 700 miles round trip to Brixham with our 17 foot fletcher bow rider for the Southwest sports boat rally and stayed an extra few days for the Torbay Air show. All I can say is that it was amazing. I would estimate that on the Saturday and Sunday there were about 400 boats out in the bay watching the show and seeing the performance with the planes overhead was out of this world.

Here is a short video of the Reds that my wife took on her iPhone very good for just a phone I thought

Nice one. I had a similar experience around 1999. We were in a 20' Bayliner in the middle of the Solent during Cowes week. We saw the Red's display. One of them turned skyward directly overhead and you could feel the heat from the engines. I will never forget that sight. It was the best view I have ever had of the dsiplay. The only thing that wasn't pleasant was being bounced around by the wake from a myriad boats.

We used to do the Lowestoft airshow most years when we moored there. Always the best seats in the house in terms of seeing the show but some years the North Sea made it a little uncomfortable :)

We used to have a seafront airshow in Southend on Sea, I remember the 1st one, with Concord flying up the Thames, a Vulcan literally hanging in the air the way bricks don't, harriers nodding at the audience in addition to all the normal stuff, it was really something else.

"and I surpose kebabs"

When working at night many years ago in Hounslow, there was a wagon selling kebabs. They had the most fabulous chili sauce mixed with mint. It was inspired and I have never had the like since. Best kebabs I ever had.

Slippery slope, Dennis: you could end up with something like this. Would m'sieu like a cherry on the top?

We were anchored out in the bay on both days, I'm fairly sure I spotted you as we were passing Dennis. It was good to see the Reds do the full high level display on Sunday without disappearing into the clouds. Stunning to see the Lancaster so close, looking very graceful. The best Torbay Airshow yet, and an excellent weekend all round!

We did see a lot of dragging and resetting of anchors on Saturday though due to the lumpy conditions.

We have watched the yearly airshow over Swansea Bay a couple of times (anchored out). It's well worth doing. Unfortunately, it has always been quite lumpy on the weekend of the airshow.
