What would you say is the best 'one stop' chandlery (or town with lots of chandlers) on the East Coast? Particularly for clothing? And stuff I'd rather not buy over the net... I'm looking for somewhere that stocks lots of different manufacturers ideally.

I've come to terms with the fact I have got to travel (from Cambridgeshire ) but I only want to do it once if possible!

Thanks!

Morgan Marine

Morgan Marine in Brightlingsea were very helpful when I needed to buy a jacket......20% off clothing sale right now as well!

No connection, just a recipient of good service!

Fox's in Ipswich.

A vote for Fox's. I need to replace some metric rigging screws. Sta-Lok have stopped making the type I want. Other chandlers who are Sta-Lok agents just said I could only have the new Supajust type which are too long, and don't match the others. Fox's went the extra mile and contacted Sta-Lok to see if they could get what I wanted (The open bodied 16mm thread chromed bronze ones) or even get some made, and as a result Sta-Lok searched their stores and found a box full of them.

Foxes for trendy sailing sailing clothes. Marinestore Maldon or Titchmarsh for hardware, rope etc. Classic Marine Woodbridge for bronze stuff and oil lamps that actually work. Try B & Q workware for sailing clothes, slightly cheaper than Musto (!). Gaelforce for trawler strength gear.

I don't know if they still exist as it is 10 years since I retired and moved to this end of Suffolk, but I used to use Ely Boat Chandlers when I lived in Newmarket.

It had a good range of clothing and general chandlery, nice friendly shop.

Pretty convenient for the Cambridge/West Suffolk area.
