A quick update for those who asked about the height.
Today we went for a walk all around the top of those cliffs, and I thought to check it with the smartphone GPS.
Now, as you all know, the GPS vertical accuracy isn't exactly surgical, but both my device and another which I borrowed from a friend gave pretty consistent results, so I don't think to be too far off the mark.
Essentially, the max cliff height is a tad above 40m on the NW side of the bay (the one reachable by road, where the WW2 bunker is), and goes progressively down to 20m or so on the opposite side.
By and large, I estimate that the point from where those folks are jumping is somewhere between 22 and 24m above the sea level.
Pretty sure, it seemed to take forever for a stone to hit the water...
