Re: Broke dongle

The Navmaster software comes with a parallel or USB dongle. The agent told me I needed to insure it for the value of the charts. Coz they won't issue another one.

I don't blame them for trying to protect their product. Navmaster more of a commercial product chopped down for the leasure market using actual Admiralty charts.
I'm not surprised they've done it looking at the amount of older copies of Cmap-93 there are floating around before they protected them.
I don't think it's any problem carrying a dongle around, cant forget the password then!

No point: already done! Some products that are sold by the company I work for are licensed this way. Most are just a time-expiring key tied to the customer name & address.

Vee have Vays of knowing vif you give your key to many other peoples... (and no, not spyware, simply people trying to get support or upgrades sometimes find out they weren't as licensed as they thought they were).
