We stood in perfect peace in the warm calm of a beautiful evening on Canna.
Maybe its the music I have playing just now - or maybe its the Dalwhinnie - but I'm really missing the place

No correct - it was Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham - but I'm sure if TCM was to take up the fiddle he'd make a fair fist of it. I'm looking forward to his version of the Leaving of Croabh Haven

Own Up, Claysie

What music were you listening to when actually on that beach?

I think the forum members should be told.

It certainly wasn't Aly & Phil's Calypso beat....!

Back down to earth...

Reality may taint the romance.
The weekend was put aside for some jobs on the boat, including some running repairs on the sail cover to withstand the winter blows. I got to the mooring as the N'ly was starting to pick up, blew up the rubber and loaded the messages and dog and got to the boat just as the wind started blowing the spume about.
Got fettled on board and abandoned plans to go ashore again. Dog was told he'd have to pee in the heads or wait for morning.
Had a fine dinner (venison steak) and half a bottle of wine. Turned in to read a book and listened to the radio about the two fatalities in the Pentland Firth. Very reassuring.
I was woken several times in the night... either by willywaws laying the boat over or the dog trying to climb into my sleeping bag.
Morning brought calm... and rain. But I got the sailcover fixed and after breakfast all seemed better with the world.
Next weekend?
I'll find an excuse to go back up, no doubt.

I am back on terra after a weekend on the boat.
