Hello Gang,

A fellow Amel owner and I have an ONAN Maintenance course scheduled for 15 January.

There are 2 places open; so if your boat has an Onan genset, this may be an occasion to learn more about it. (PLEASE, no trade people)

If you wish to attend, the course will be given by an Onan/Cummins tech expert beginning at 0930 on 15 Jan at the Cummins/Onan corporate address address. Don't be late!

Apllication via PM only.

... the course will be given by an Onan/Cummins tech expert ...
Surely this can't be serious, I've known some 'onan/cummins tech experts' in my time, I thought it rhymed with 'anchor'.
We had a budgie called Onan, he also spilled his seed.

Sorry Monique couldn't resist it. It just goes to show that choosing brand names isn't always an easy option. There was a famous soft drink with the onomatapoeic name of 'pschittt'. And who in their right minds would call an insurance company Scottish Widows these days?

Hello Bob,

Was an interesting dread thrift... :-)

Let's get back on subject before I go into a rage! Exaggerated of course.

Merry Christmas

Last bump...difficult to think no one wishes this course for their Onan equipped boat.

Merry Christmas
Many thanks for putting the idea out on here but it's not that difficult to see why there are not lots of takers. I have a couple of onans but they are so delightfully simple to service and come with such delightfully clear parts diagrams that I cannot see the sense of spending a day in Peterborough doing a course. I fear the course will be at least 2/3 spend on the easy stuff

Hi JFM,

Thanks for the comment. I think we agree on the fundamentals but there are some quirks which I'd like to get answers to... By the way, .... thousand apologies.... can you also circulate on the mob forum? Complete oversight on my part.

Merry Christmas also. :-)

Good morning,

I am running the course based on customer request, I will cover whatever anyone wants from changing an impeller to A/C alternater overhaul.

Everyone is welcome.

Would love to attend, but as I am still employed by the NHS (until April) I cannot take leave without 6 weeks notice
