Hey 25931,
Spent many a stop over in Gib in the 70's,even when the border was closed so we had to go Morocco to get to Spain.
Fondly remember Lotties Bar,way after midnight (we always were berthed in the submarine pens) taking bets on the cockroaches on the shelves , to see which one would get to the end first!!
Best ,

Hi y'all.

Not been west for a few weeks so don't know which tuna nets are out. They are well marked though unlike the nasty little odas buoys East of Tarifa and off. Punts Canero.

Was forecast light easterlies today so naturally when we rounded Europa Point a couple of hours ago it was a honkin sw6....

the Tarifa weather broadcast was spot on. Listen for call up on 16, then switch channel 10. Swaps every two hours with Tangier but Tarifa one much better. 1015, 1415, 1815 etc.

Avagoodone.
:encouragement:
Walked to the smkt today at the east end of the fishing part. There was a compound there that was full of the anchors that they use for the tunny nets, so no wonder I disnt see it, it want there!

Gib end of straits has light easterlies. Tootled over to Ceuta yesterday, nice reach. Off back to gib shortly, wind again light. No fog.

got in this afternoon, flat seas, light wind up chuff, donk on, then from Tarifa wind built to 18kts W. So not a prob. Big genny out, donk at 1500 revs to make sure we kept up with the tide window, over 7 kts but no discernable tidal lift till well after Tarifa. Left 8.30 am arrived 2.30 pm. No fuss, no drama, couldnt believe it! Met up with Capn (Chris)
Don't like the squeezing in to spaces, fender to fender! And only £15 a night! Makes a change from €32! and free Wifi! What is it about Spain that they dont like giving Wifi out?

Nice to meet you Stu!

Marina Bay. Have been here for a bit, discounts if you pay in advance. Also, Morrisons Supermarket has a bar. You get the idea?

;)
