On the seabed under your marina berth

Now i know if i get some of these, they are bright enough (my son has one) so now which camera to get? with a lead long enough, say 20m and good enough picture?

In various marine locations, 1 brand new watch, spectacles (swept off by mainsail when hoisting!), 1 sponge - this was dropped deliberately as a mark and to our surprise sank like a stone, a favourite hat, and still onboard but irretrievable, 2 spanners a small socket and a drill bit which all fell down under the fuel tank.

socket wrench that my other half had up the mast tightening the spreaders. it hit me first then went into the water. oh how we laughed. well she did

1) On flotilla holiday in Greece, I got hit in the face by a flapping sheet. Crew member told me I had lost a lens from my sunglasses - I hadn't noticed. Assumed the missing lens had gone overboard, so I threw the sunnies overboard after them. Then found the missing lens on the deck....

2) Found a loose Allen headed screw on the mainsheet traveller while in the marina. No Allen keys on board, so pottered into town to buy a set, tightened up the screw, then accidentally dropped the key over the side.

3) A mobile phone somewhere between Falmouth and St Mawes.

Shortly after putting my boat on her new marina berth I bought the smallest jet washing machine I could find. Even smaller that the wife’s handbag, the first sunny day found me happily jet washing the deck and removing years of accumulated grime with it. Like a puppy on a lead, it obediently followed me around the deck on its two small wheels until I forgot it was even there as the water jet very satisfyingly did its stuff. Suddenly the ‘gun’ was pulled out of my hands accompanied by an expensive splash. Luckily I grabbed the gun before it too was dragged overboard. Unluckily, even the few seconds spent in seawater had killed the jet wash machine itself. Since then I’ve stuck to a hosepipe and scrubbing brush!

Lost a phone overboard in Newtown Creek. We're there so often, I guess we can call it our weekend berth.

Also, a camera while sailing into Chichester harbour. It's waterproof so some day someone might find a working camera with some interesting pictures on it.
