On board overnighting.

didn’t notice that bit about pre booking pump outs, so thanks for the heads up

Neither did I. That's interesting. I suppose it is to do with getting hold of the mag stripe card. Maybe if you have some already the machines work. Usually the cards are purchased from the lock keeper...

but just think about the money you will save by not eating out and a chance for your significant other to brush up her cooking in a confined space skills and washing up in tepid water in a totally impractical sink. :)

Sounds like you bought a duff boat. Should have got a tupperware dish with sterndrives. None of those problems on my little boat.

Does everyone assume that overnight stays on your boat will be permitted from 5th July?
This is the date when caravan, camping and self-catering accommodation may be permitted. I see that Le Boat quote this date as the estimated date when their hire fleet on the Thames should be available.
Anyone have any thoughts?

That's a Motorola 4800x!!! With the additional "portable" battery pack.

Weighed a ton and cost 38 p per minute within the M25 and 25p outside. Those were the days - 1990

Agreed. This seems to be the most likely date. IMHO the catch all caravan issue is what's going to prompt a date. As soon as a lifting of restrictions is announced 20000 will be heading west like a giant wagon train. North South and East won't be exempt either. Armageddon at the M4/M5 junction ?

............and useful to jump start your boat if engine battery failed .
We used to sell em . Flog 5 and you got a free flight to Florida . :)Got a nice slice of the airtime too.
I skipped mine years ago but it's now an antique that I have seen in a museum...

I refer to the latest RYA Cruising News that refers to the latest government guidance on use of cruising boats, sail or power. Towards the latter part of this section of the News is a very clear paragraph that states that staying over night on board is NOT currently in line with government guidance.
I have a feeling that some members may wish to be aware of this.
I thought Cummings, had allready said it was OK ? Also BoJo backed him up ? You can even go for a trip, just to test your eyes !

There are followers and leaders.
If I drive my car into a tree and kill myself will others feel they can do the same or will they think ...... actually that is a bad idea!

If they try to charge you fine or prison etc you could just say you needed to check if you still suffered from motion sickness so needed to sleep on your boat for a week and then take it to the south of France just to check your sea legs ??

If you've got a fishing rod you can stay out as night fishing is now allowed as long as social distancing is maintained. No mention wether if being on a boat is ay different but you can certainly do it on a beach, river, lake etc.
