Managed to get out on the boat yesterday. Glorious day. Popped in to Haslar then, on the way home to Chichester, I dropped the hook at East Head:

I was the only boat there and, as the sun set and I reflected on life and the manouevrability of boats, I thought that sterndrives are kinda ok; IPS - haven't tried it. But really there is something very special about a twin screw.

Yeah but..no but....yeah but.....

Don't know if anyone will remember my post about picking up a carrier bag wrapped around my starboard outdrive resulting in the engine temp whizzing up ? Anyways, replaced a molten plastic pipe and the impeller (and oil, of course) and this was the result on Sunday... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep but the shear joy, of a boat doing what you want it to at just the right time. A dream in heavy seas, or even in a river, a good boat has to be good at all these things.

Weather forcasts. they dont mean alot. F3 or 4. still means that you might go through alot of crap

Agree with that, haydn. You can't beat 2 good old shaftdrive props churning away underneath you especially in a lumpy sea. Much better than those twitchy bouncy new fangled outdrive thingies
