Apparently called Mammatus, probably named by a bloke 'cos they reminded him of boobs [as does most things]
Did you get the hail? About 6-8mm stones in Danbury.

We didn't get any of it. Another load arrived a bit later but was just a shower.

Pretty bad here in Ipswich....Thunder, lightning, very heavy downpour. As usual, the electricity at work played up

Virtually no rain at Pin Mill, lots of thunder, but mostly over Ipswich and across the river. Shotley peninsula is often spared, although we could do with some rain.

Heybridge Basin got a dousing and a battering from the hail. Hopefully should have got most of the bird carp off of the boat!
