Olympics FAQ's

The EA have put together some FAQ's about how the Olympics will affect the river on the vistthames website HERE

Not exhaustive or complete - more to come I am sure.

Very interesting, worth clicking the PLA link for a short video.

and did I really see this :)
"This work includes tree management, ‘spot’ dredging and towpath re-surfacing in some areas. "

I was down at Bray earlier today and there are an awful lot of tree stumps where there previously willows. Doubtless the stump manglers will come along and chew them up.

Hooray.

Nature will redress the balance in time.

As to spot dredging, there's a a nasty shallow and spit just at the head of Monkey Island that I'd like to see removed - It'd be nice to use the channel on the other side again (cruise it or lose it).

Thanks for the update.

We have tickets for the rowing AND moor in Windsor marina, looks like popping across in a tender is not going to be possible :(

Absolutely, we applied for a few things and were lucky enough to get two for the rowing! They were the only ones we got.

Us too :) Our tickets are for 31st July. Not sure which races, SWMBO ordered them. I'm just grateful we didin't get awarded any more of the 'second mortgage value' of tickets she applied for

I'm not sure when ours are for, I'll need to check.

We didn't go crazy on the application I didn't potentially need lots of money going from the bank account!

I didn't get the womens beach volleyball though! :o

Apologies slight thread drift....

Yeah, annoying that.. Sam(antha.. my SWMBO) was awarded two tickets by BA for exemplary work she did this year, to the.... wait for it...
