Apparently we're likely to equal or better last time's brilliant haul of medals. So how much coverage is the BBC planning
- half hour uninterrupted coverage at the same peak-time each night?
- odd half hours at unpredictable times of the early morning?
- five minute slots interrupted by repeats of gallant failure at the 105M?

I think we should be told!

I'm sure we will find that coverage of the sailing will be minimal as usual but may get more coverage when the TV producers realise that we are in medal positions and may actually win.

It seems so unfair that the Team GB sailors won't get the coverage that their performances deserve but our athletes will be shown failing miserably time and time again. Apologies to Paula Radcliffe, Darren Campbell and Denise Lewis who have realistic chances of medals.

I think part of the problem with sailing on tv is its not that exciting to watch and the layman can't understand it. TV producers never really show what is happening on a beat and without having a helicoptor view I think its difficult to portray. Advanced computer graphics can help but the average viewer will never really understand the finer points of sailing.

I'm sure the only coverage we will get will be the odd highlights and hopefully the numerous medal ceremonies.

I wish them all good luck and would love to see more action.

Rowing used to be the same but now the GB squad has had a run of medals, it is definately getting more coverage on mainstream terrestrial TV. The only problem is that a lot of live coverage woudl be during the day at weekends when we should all be out doing the activity we spend so long discussing.
