Olympic Torch around mid Thames today.

Torch is just passing through Henley- on the river with Steve Redgrave - and will carry on through Bisham/Marlow, Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor during the day including a visit to Her Maj at Windsor Castle. Then to Egham and Ascot before eventually finishing the day at Reading.

Through Henley at 9.30 this morning, Sir Steve rowing with one hand, holding the torch in the other, 7 others also rowing.

Six others rowing - the security chappie wasn't doing any rowing, flapping his Leander painted oar about in the air!! They might have found someone who could row, or given him a quick lesson so he didn't look quite such a p**t! At least the cox was experienced enough (and some) not to wrap the eight round the bridge!
