Lovely!

I would love to have explored the area by boat, even on land would have been interesting but it wasn't possible (time) when I was working down there last winter. A fascinating area I thought.

Stayed at the Ship & Trades quite a few times, and had a quick look round the MDL marina in Chatham, it all looked a great place to be based. The historic tugs in the marina were interesting too, they were using them for filming in the historic docks whilst I was there.

Never saw sunsets like these though! It seemed to be permanently dark when I had any free time!

9 and a half knots with that lot underneath is quite an achievement!

I presume that's through the water, not SOG? We struggle to hit 8 knots despite the larger engines, although it'll cruise at 7.3 all day. I think the log is under-reading a bit though..

We did have a fair bit of tide under us towards the end which probably added a couple of knots......

Lest anyone gets the wrong idea this is what an proper sunset looks like using an actual camera and stuff.

This was taken on one of my longer trips, you can see a Saturn IV just ready to launch on the extreme left err right..of the photo.

I can't offer many photos this year after a 'giving my camera to the fishes again' incident.

But friends have helped out.

They are in the fish hold. You do have a fish hold on your boat? Don't you?

I have only ever bought one fender. A fender step and they are useless. I just seem to pick them up. Over the Easter weekend on the dark side of the estuary I picked up three fenders, one horseshoe buoy, two footballs and a beach ball.

Unfortunately an ordinary fish hold is woefully inadequate to hold my catch, which means that all my fish have to be returned to the water, hence the misleading lack of fish when we return to shore.
