Message appears on notice board inviting club members to a day out which the weather cannot prevent. Many will have been aware of the russian sub parked in Rochester for the past few years.Boat was previously moored on the Thames, moved to Folkestone and finally round here to Rochester.Lots of history to be found online if anybody is interested. The sub may be moved to somewhere near the 02 in the near future,so is being given a bit of a chip and a nice new coat of black paint.
Our ferry for the day with all donations to the RNLI.
The emergency bouy dsigned to be released to aid location if things go pear shaped, the escape hatch is immediately under this.
Looking aft.
In this shot you can see the thickness of the pressure hull
The latest in desktop navigating ?
Officer bedroom(best on boat) not quite up to Broom standards.
This is there for a reason
And you thought your engine room was complicated
Now,fancy a set of these when the lockie shuts the gate in your face or that SeaMaster rips past depositing all your glasswear on the floor.
Ps.two of the fish were low yield wotsits.
The flybridge ?
For any sad soul with not much to do a story about a submarine.incident that happened just round the corner

Anywho, thanks to the crew of Under Pressure for taking us off and thanks to the chippers n painters who allowed us a look round and a little snippet of info the boat was recently used as back drop by a Dutch TV company, creating a scenario of a couple who have to survive after a nuclear war.
Good day out and a pint in the bar after was most welcome and how on earth people put up with the conditions god only knows.
75 blokes,two bogs one shower.
