hello
no dought this has been mentioned before but i cant find it on any serches!
our old Watermota Sea Panther derv engine says use Shell Rimulla engine oil (even shell dont list it or any equilivents). what is the best equilevent?

thanks

ask for a series 3 oil at your local motor factor, if you have a hgv parts factor the better your chances. But to be honest the oldies will happily run on what is known as fleet oil, but mention turbo if you have one.

You can get 'old fashioned' mineral diesel oil which is perfectly OK for older diesel engines, from the supermarkets or motor factors. Duckhams make one but it's difficult to find,

[/ QUOTE ] Dunno what THIS PAGE is all about then but whether any of the current range of Rimula oils will be suitable for your Sea Panther I would not like to speculate.

that is the problem the oil name is Rimulla (copied from the manual) but the date of the manual is 1986, the Rimula is a current brand and i found this on Shells web site (some of the indian /chinese website do list Rimulla but aren very easy to understand.
any way i have found some Duchams 20w50 Clasic so will try this it seems to be the best match.
thanks all
