That's what I'd thought, till I found the B&W photo.

I expect there are records, but all the marine traffic systems seem to list only currently-commissioned vessels.

Awakening an old thread... I had lately been wondering what might have happened to the 'Gunfleet' in the last five years, and eventually found a good description of the owner's restoration/refurbishment, on a mig welding forum: Steel boat fix up...

I note that the (then) current owner was under the impression the name was 'Sunfleet', although even from across the river, the G looked plain enough to me.

Also awakening an old thread.

My dad & his brother (Clive & Frank Youngs) used to have a boat yard at the top end of Barking Creek and they once owned Gunfleet.

This would have been late 70's early 80's and I recall my Dad saying there were three sister vessels with the Gunfleet, the Benfleet & the Sunfleet.

Most likely knowing their links to the River Thames, they would have got the vessel through the PLA though I remember Dad saying one of the sister vessels was used as one of The Queens Launches.
