Does anyone here have a drying mooring in Old Mill Creek, Dartmouth. Any comments/advice and upside & downside of mooring there, apart from where to store a dinghy and park a car.

Not on Old Mill but have a swinging mooring just upstream. It's classified as "shallow water" by Dart Harbour but it is full tide for us. We have a cat and draw just under a meter. Don't know about availability but might be worth asking.
There is a dinghy rack just upstream of Darthaven Marina where there is ample parking. Good luck.

Thanks for that - Darthaven is the other side of the river? Is the dinghy rack and parking part of the Maraina?

Parking is owned by the marina but publicly available. Dinghy rack is run by Dart Harbour. Should also have mentioned that Dart Harbour have deep water trot moorings just upstream of Mill Creek. I believe some are available.

You need to speak to Dave Distin who owns a lot of moorings in Dartmouth including some of the trots in the old mill creek area. I don't have his number but the harbour office will have it. (Apologies for the bold type face it just happened)

It's not cheap on that carpark. were by higher ferry kingswear side.
We stay on dave distin mooring all year. insurance company know(cost about £15 extra).
If youre going old mill creek then have a word with dave about situ. well informed guy about what to do.
He might even have a mooring just for winter.

Thanks for all the advice about Dartmouth and Old Mill creek last year. I took the mooring there and just thad a pleasant trip fto it from Christchurch.. I am not disappointed as it is a lovely spot just off the main river and very quiet there for sleeping. The water taxi looks to be a good, reliable and not expensive service.
I had forgotten what an nice place Dartmouth was - looking forward to the season there.
