With just over 24 hours to go.. I suggest we list all the excuses why either team didn't win... then on Sunday ( when I sober up after my bet with Claymore) we/you can just say reason no 1 or 6 or 10 or whatever .. rather than a full explanation on the weather conditions , how hard the gras was etc.. watcha think . ?

Dunno, I don't mind admitting I'm somewhat nervous!

1. The Wallydoodoes spiked Jonny Wilkinsons isotonic drink
2. The Wallydoodoes stamped on JW's feet
3. The Wallydoodoes poisoned the whole England team

Theres a start!

Fingers x\'d...

...I actually get to see the game. I'm going to be somewhere in the middle of rural France at the time. I just hope there's a local Rugby club that will welcome a passing Rosbif.

To see oursels as ithers see us!

Wallabies excuse - "Well we only got this far because we were lucky as the All Blacks had a bad day last week, so we deserved to lose."

England excuse - "Well the ground was not soggy enough and it was too hot and not raining, besides, if we had played the All Blacks as it should have turned out to be, we would have lost anyway."

As you can see, we have all here in NZ had a week of practicing making up excuses following last Saturday's game and become quite good at it. Nice to be good at something.

Enjoy the game.

That's an excellent suggestion, however - I really do think that its only your side of the planet that needs to work on the excuses...
I shall be taking drink with you on Sunday - even though celebrating, as much as one can, an English victory.

Who needs excuses?

As long as the referee doesn't make any major mistakes, it'll be a great game and in the end the best team on the day will win.

I'd prefer it to be England of course but I'll be in the Belfry in Oslo along with about 250 other loonies from Aus, England, etc. and at the end of the match there'll be nothing but sympathy for those on the wrong side of the scoreline .... NOT :-)

Re: the winners

I've just spoken to one of the real winners, the landlord of our local (The Grapes, Southampton) has a widescreen and reckons on doing 150 breakfasts + assorted pints tomorrow morning.
Sadly it's too far for me to walk to and I have some sleep to catch up on so will watch the highlights at home (if England win).
