I know you don't want me back -
Strong winds stopping me getting home,
You've arranged for both Foulgers AND Fishermans Gat to be closed,
And as a last ditch defence, you've even mined the bloody Harwich approaches.

Please let me back......I don't want to be a Solent yottie anymore!!!
:) :) :)

We told you that no good could possibly come from a liaison with those South Coast Hobbledehoys, and now you must take responsibility for your misjudgements.

To appease the guardians of our sanctity, you will need to pay a pourboire for a re-entry permit. Single Malt ought to do it. We will advise quantity and location for disbursement later.

On payment, we will get tillergirl to email you a route plan through the secret defences, which you must follow to the letter. Failure will mean you being grounded, and not just in a teenage sense.

After so long in the Solent, we thought we'd better make your return a challenging one.... it'll give you time to think about your misdemeanour.... and to lose a few of those bad Solent habits.... we don't expect to see any champagne in the cockpit, we would like to see some mud on the shiny new anchor, and we'd hope that by the time you round North Foreland that you'll have stopped doing hourly radio checks.

OK?

Correction - several single malts.

Route - that's easy. Only safe route is KTR now. Down to Lands End, up the Irish Sea, round the top and down. I wouldn't hang around in case of independence of Scotland and the need for courtesy flag, passport and visa.

If I did a KTR, where do you reckon I would meet Dylan? :)

To be honest, despite growing up in Gosport, and having lots of fond memories of the place, I think I prefer the East Coast now!!

Unbelievable!!

The crew of a boat behind me in Shepards Wharf Cowes was in fact drinking champagne in the cockpit over the weekend. AND they had a polished stainless anchor! :)
Mind you Shepards Wharf only cost £19 a night (29'-0).
