Oilies - Henri LLoyd or Musto?

Was looking at these recently - the Musto Offshore jacket didn't have full cargo pockets (more a performance thingy) and was much lighter (and less warm) than the cheaper one. Salesman explained that this was because serious racers wanted lighter clothing and advised me to buy the cheaper one.

Had planned to bargain hard at the boat show

My greatest triumph over the rag industry took place recently in Shanghai, where I saw a wonderful sailing jacket on sale in the market off the Bund: it had all the pockets, the padding, the hood, and the labels - wow - Gortex, everything under the sun proof.. I could go on. Identical in London £350+ . In Shaghai £10 (ten)

Did I leave all the labels on? Of course....

I have HL Ocean breathables, quite old now. At the time I bought them I was working as an RYA Instructor and so they had a lot of use. Mainly leaning around on things /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif anyway after a while the arms started to wear through from leaning on the coach roof whilst sat in the companionway.
I sent them back and HL made a really good job of repairing and strengthening them and all at no cost. So they get my vote
