SuperMarket? CF-4 may be better, it's for heavy duty direct injected engines (severe engine service), CF for indirect injection old ones. Can be found as 'marine grade', I got it in marina store for less then lowest supermarket price :)

Thornycroft 230 is a marinised Leyland 4/98 direct injection engine.

Super engine just look after the coolant, good easy starting motor.

Thanks Latestarter1 I asked about the engine about two years ago and you gave me some very helpful advice, partly convinced me the boat was right for us. It's never failed to start once we had the diesel pump serviced - left for two years and seals had perished - and lift pump replaced -pinhole leak. I got some of that DCA4 you recommended, pricy stuff but as you said it protects against cavitation and corrosion of the wet liners.
