Hello guys,

Does anybody know where the Oil pressure sensor is located on the KAD32 ? I found the Low pressure Alarm sensor near the oil filter and the regular oil sensor should be on the right side of the engine beside the compressor according to the service manual. But there is really few space in the boat so I was unable to find it. So I'm no sure if the service manual is right or wrong. Somebody could confirm the location of the sensor ?

Thanks :)

Under the back of the oil cooler. You can see it in the picture next to the oil feed for the turbo. Nice and easy to get to.........

Hello FatherTed !

Thanks for the picture ! Wow !! Can't wait trying to access the sensor between the 2 engines
I'll be in the boat in 2 weeks, so I'll let you know !

Also, do you know if it would be possible to remove the sensor with the engine full of oil or do I need to empty it ?

It may bleed a little oil from whats left in the gallery, but all the oil is below in the sump so no need to empty.

Good luck, certainly not easy access. Assume you have checked the gauges by swapping the cables over on the dashboard.
Perhaps report the issue you are having, someone may have some ideas for you.

and from checking with an ammeter how can you be sure it's the sender and not cabling?
my bet would be cabling/connectors tbh.
If access is difficult, maybe it's worth removing the two terminals, cleaning, jumpering them and checking with the ammeter on the dash side that you do get continuity.
That is assuming cables go straight to dash gauge, no ecu in between and all that - not familiar with the engines.

If it's anything like my boat it will be easier than reaching the sensor on the starboard engine. Good luck and let's hope its just a poor electrical connection.
