My Hino WO6d engines have brass pumps that have a hose attached about 1/2 mtr long. I take it these are for pumping the engine oil out? My question is are these nominal on most engines, and what are they like to use? I know pump out tools are usual but I don’t have these.
Thanks

My Cat 3126 engines had hand pumps for removing the engine and gearbox oil. Worked brilliantly. Given there were 25 litres in each engine, this was a very efficient process. Run the engine for 15-20 mins to warm the oil, and pump away.
