There have been a few Homophobic and Racist posters in the lounge recently!
One poor misguided fool thought that because a gang of Black lads had a go at a party his boy went to, against his advice, that ALL Black people were bad, and we should all join the BNP.
I set him right on both his views and how I would describe him in 'East End' terms.
The other was explaining how nobody should trust Sir Elton John and his partner with Children, because they are Gay.
What Homosexuality and Pedophilia have to do with each other is beyond me, so once again I thought it might be a good idea to set the record straight (No pun...)
Both posts ended up being removed. Funny that...
The Gay basher openly admitted to pulling his own teeth out...ROFL

There would appear to be a lot of very unhappy people in the world today and the internet is an ideal place to express their sad lack of being able to come to terms with the world as it is.Always interesting to compare the contribution of some lounge posters to the various forums.If they frequently contribute to the other boaty forums with intelligent posts then I am likely to take some notice of their efforts,however some of the more "enthusiastic" posters in the lounge appear to post nowhere else on the MBM site and suspect are merely using the facility to state opinions that they would not have the courage to express face to face.
Do wonder how many of them actually have boats or are really interest in boating at all and if you have the temerity to request a little moderation in their posts as did No regrets .

Exactly the problem. Usual influx of very rare visitors at xmas stirring trouble up, then leaving chaos behind after the holidays.
I and others have just spent a substantial part of our xmas trying to smooth ruffled feathers caused by these "visitors".
This is why I queried this thread, I am sure and am assured Pheran did it as a light hearted jest, but a sudden influx of new visitors stomping into the lounge in their size 9s to "rescue" No Regrets would not have been helpful at this stage.
That's why I gave Pheran the chance to reply or have a poke back in the lounge.
Looks we have lost one or two peeps off there already because of these trolls and life is too short.

The stench of hypocrisy here is almost overwhelming. I withdrew my original post when a response indicated that I had unintentionally provided a poster with trouble-making form with an opportunity. I will say no more lest I commit the same mistake again. The Thames Forum is better than all that!

Sorry Pheran, but cannot understand the context in your post.You have always contributed to Thames forum in a helpful manner and as such were most certainly not the subject of my comments about certain members of the "Lounge" in my previous post,far from it.
