It weighs about the same as a conventional rig of the same size, including stays. Half the weight is in the boom and the mast is tapered so the CG is quite a lot lower. The whole thing is made of carbon & glass fibres but is pretty massive, hence the weight.

What have you got in the way of reinforcement down below . Must be quite a lot of Moment in all 3 degrees of freedom . How are the loads distributed underneath

Aerorig I remember got into trouble with one customer because they screwed up the mast. Rather than scrap it, they tried to correct the fault by adding additional layers. The end result was that the mast ended up nearly twice the weight and ruined the sailing performance. It ended up in the courts. I'm not sure if this didn't lead to their demise.
