As it was a lovely day and as we are full we went off the RoanHead, which is north of Barrow in the Millom Estuary. It's a nature reserve and is lovely and peaceful. Just us and the sea and a few people enjoying the weather.

Mrs Lakesailor afforded me a moment's artiness as she walked beside the sea.

Last year when I was cockling at Abermenai, three came over from the mainland & beached. They got off their machines, walked about 4mtrs turned around & looked lost. They didn't know what to do, so they got back on & zoomed off again.

I carried on cockling. all in all we spent 8 hours on the beach & were never short of things to do, see or enjoy.

Thier chart plotters must have been playing up

Seriously though , I'm amazed at how many people need force feeding with ideas for what to do on a beach , I can spend hours enjoying the open space and the freedom , even going back to my childhood and digging down till you reach water and then watching it fill up . Cockling is something I haven't done for years though , crabs from Cromer harbour are delicious when you catch them yourself

I have spent many happy hours watching dogs crapping on the beach, for extra thrills, camouflage a fresh turd with a thin layer of sand and then wait for some barefoot urchin to "discover" it

Do I win a tenner?

Is this the Viz?

Never mind the jetskis, what about all those dogs crapping on the beach!

I can only see one caught in the act. Anyway, the beach gets flushed twice a day & thousands of boaters do it in the sea every day.

I tend to have similar opinions about man's best friend.

However, every single owner had plastic bags and lovingly scooped up their pooches' poops.

I just knew someone would think of that as soon as I pressed the submit button /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif so I prepared myself /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif this wee beasty is the crab in question /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and you'd soon know it if he was crawling around in your speedo's /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
