There I was looking for a nice 3 cabin flybridge around 45 feet.

Now I've gone and done a deal on a Princess 46 Riviera sportscruiser.

Its bleedin' enormous !!

I will never polish the hull in a whole weekend.

Insurance is up, moorings increased, extra fuel etc..

But who cares coz it seats 20 in the cockpit.

If only I had 20 friends.

So whats the problem? With a 46 foot sports cruiser, you'll have plenty of temporary friends! Plus it's only a foot longer than the one you were thinking about! When you get it down to the med, I'll come and help you fill the cockpit, even bring my own cold beer, the fuel, sorry, you'll have to buy yourself!

TeeHee., I know someone in Ramsgate who will be pissed off that someone with a loud shirt has a bigger boat than him and he doesn't moor a million miles from you either.

Re: Essex girl?

It is the Essex Boatyard one. What a place they have there. I was expecting a few trailer boats and some rotten hulks but they have some serious grp for sale.

Haven't got her yet , survey is next week so fingers crossed.

You gota be pullin our plonkers here....

OK rough calc .... 10K buys 33333 litres red stuff at 30p/litre which is 7680 gals. Now at 1 MPG (guessing) thats 7680 miles (doh!) which means he covered 548 miles/day at 30 mph which would take 18 hours.

So roughly speaking your mate was sailing around for 18 hours every day for 14 consecutive days ?????? really! I'd like to shake this mans hand!!

I spent two weeks in August cruising the south coast (beachy head to Portland and everywhere in between) and only drank £300 worth of Red stuff.

Maybe it was the QE2?????

its doable
we did 300 in one day in the med and the plan was to go around menorca in three
wisely the weather intervened and we scaled back the plans

Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy.

When in Ramsgate I try to moor near Dave then when he's not there I siphon fuel off him. I used to feel guilty but I won't in future, if he can afford his P46 he can afford to subsidise me.

Hope it hasn't got a bow thruster - you know the sort of people who have them. Best of Luck, all on 'Moron'

Re: Essex girl?

Did you get to have a look at that 30ft Riva St Tropez in there. The piccys look good but in the flesh it needs a lot of TLC. I had the same impression as you about the yard, but in fact thay seemed more accomodating than a lot of the other brokers that I've been too.

Yeah! I know its running rough, but your lucky its running at all!!
