No, that's easy. Well it is if you'd studied Chaucer, but getting those yachtie chaps to understand it is another thing altogether! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sanded remnants of varnish off teak handrails prior to leaving them untreated, washed and polished superstructure and bulwarks.
Then as tide was coming in, rowed the dinghy across the mud, literally, to a pontoon. Anchored dinghy and proceeded to do a wonderful dredging operation, with a garden rake, to create a deeper hole in the mud for the outdrive to sit in. Foul black stinking stuff it is - bit like the beer at The Crabshell Inn, next door /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Mine principle feat of bravery on Saturday was ferrying ye kiddes to and from parties, when I should have been frolicking on ye waters.

Ventured forth to Yarmouth yestermorn, where we did dine most copiously on haunches of chicken tikka and battered fish at ye Wheatsheaf Tavern. Did espy ye gentilmanne's yacht Leander, laying at anchor and was sore tempted to ask ye skipper to pay for ye parking.

Also passed a Fletcher called Durdle, in the Beaulieu River on our way to Yarmouth. Name seems familiar - I'm sure its a forumite?

Removing a leaking side window, cleaning, re-sealing and fitting the uphostery again.

This followed by taking the boat out and letting the 13 year old daugther doing some pontoon bashing for about one hour... she is getting really good at this stuff, but still a bit un-certain when bringing the boat back into the berth (which is quite tight). As it was a F3 / 4, I brought the boat in for her whilst she observed.

Engaged in a mighty struggle to punish that organ of evil, The Liver. Heroically assisted by mjf (leader of the good fight against sobriety, and possibly telepathic as he made me carry on drinking through some form of mind control even after he went to bed). Aided and abetted by SteveE and two blokes I'd never seen before. And a supporting cast including DERF, Observer and ChrisB4.

The first round (me vs. Liver) ended in a draw, so we continued to fight the good fight on Saturday afternoon (through till gawd alone knows when) with SteveE and family. Casualty list as follows:

Missing In Action (presumed dead):
Two T-shirts
One pair sunglasses
3-4 hours

Killed In Action:
One mobile phone
Enough alcohol to float a battleship
Several million brain cells

SWMBO applied (voluntarily) fungicide to the canopy and did the washing up while I did the fun bit of OOD duty, namely swanning about running the ferry.

Still, 'twas the forty second annual celebration of my natal event and thusly was I granted her gracious permission for sloth:-)

Leander uses Gentlemens binoculars sold and refurbished via the good offices of this lowly trades person, so hopefully they had a good look at you too.

May the force be with you!
