DOn't know but dissappointed when i viewed the first pics to see it wasn't an Absolute you were on!! Looks more like a Pearl to me, then delighted to see the Absolute further down, don't know where you were coming from(probably IOM), but looks like you were going into Malahide, possibly???!!!

Cheers

Al.

Your very welcome to Ireland Nautical. Some very nice shots of Dublin Bay and Dalkey. I would guess that if you bought the house in question, which is on Vico Rd, you probably wouldn't have much change out of 10,000,000 Euro. Probably the dearest terrace house in the world! Of course it would be worth it, cause you could pop up the road to have a cup of tea with Bono /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Hope you had a great time /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

A bit hypocritical, eh? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif After regularly rubbishing all flybridge boats, here you are driving a Pearl. Wossit like then? 50 or 55?

He's just a nautical prostitute - he'll drive anything for money (so long as it is a bit flash!) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ten Points! bob on, yes that end terrece house is a whopping 30,000,000.00 euro!

Somehow I don't think boat selling will allow me put an offer in any time soon /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Amazing place around there, nearly every house is occupied by some rock star, mega rich industrialist or A list celeb, if you bombed the place you would probably wipe out half the music industry!

Hi Nautical,

Sorry I wasn't about to help out - had to do a bit of work to meet this months boat payment /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You seem to have got on well enough. Did you enjoy Dublin Bay - nice isn't it - we would like to keep it to ourselves though so less advertising please /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

At last I have the advantage of local knowledge...

1: Leaving Howth Sound in something with crap rear viz - must be the Pearl 60 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. At least you are getting the feel of a proper (ish) boat. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

2: Dalkey Island. The boat is in Dalkey Sound and the bow is pointing North. One of many Martello towers to warn us of foreign invaders - must have been on a break when you arrived /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

3: Muglins Island to Port so I guess you were in Muglins Sound passing between Dalkey Is and Muglins. High tide.

4: Dalkey Sound looking West. Dalkey Is to STBD. Dun Laoghaire and Dublin City straight on.

5: Afloat magazines Redbay Rib. Dont buy the mag as it's 95% + for yachties.

6: Ah, Sorrento and the houses you refered to are Sorrento Terrace. Many celebs living on this hill - Bono, The Edge, Damon Hill, Eddie Irvine (unless he has sold up), Enya, Lisa Stansfield?? and leading biz figures. You can see where The edge lives - 10 points to who can mark his house.

7: The IoM Minister for Tourism and Foggy Weather in some little Italian fancy sportsboat jobbie leaving Howth harbour. Heading North with Carrigeen Bay on Irelands Eye to STBD.

8: Everyone sing now "the old home town looks the same.... as I bring her off the plane......... and there to meet me is the marina manager with his receipt book"

Entering my home port, Malahide. High Tide (again) judging by the perch mark. Hope you were nice to the yachtie to STBD /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Er, I claim momentary insanity and the lure of a wad of folding...........see? money corrupts even the pure at heart /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually it was a new 60, nice machine and humoungus space inside, nicely detailed too, was very impressed with the machinery space, proper engineered stuff and well thoughout.

Drives I have to say a bit sedate, mind you it was extremely quiet for a shaft drive thingy but I guess a boat like this isn't bought for hurling around the Jet rib on the hydraulic platform is for that sort of hooligan stuff.

I think she would make a fantastic charter boat or a boat for oneself but chartered out to offset running costs, she has four big (and I mean big) double cabins, an upper and a lower saloon and a seperate deck level galley, seemed an awful lot more boat than 60'. I do believe they are a very successful boat down the med cus you can charter a four cabin boat for the price of a three cabin.

If she were mine I would probably get a bit bored, she gives a tremendous feeling of security and would plough on through just about anything just don't expect to chuck it around like a sports cruiser. A squaddie 66 has much the same interior space and drives a bit sportier but is alot more expensive for much the same quality but does give you a bit more of a grin factor in the driving seat. Horses for courses I suppose but I think Pearl will do very well in the future some nice product in the pipeline too if the brochures I found tucked away in the saloon lockers are anything to go by!

PS, I was skippering to just help out a friend who owns her I am really not a prostitute /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
