OGs Boat Search.

I wonder if he’ll take a lowball offer as uk boats are ridiculously overpriced as he keeps telling us all……start at 30k eh and let the fun begin :)

Buy right and you can come out smiling when its time to sell, pay to much and its tears all the way....there are 3 others on the market but all older and at considerably more dosh .
Somebody will get good deal, just remember to bring that a bag of hoarded staycation money with you. :)
Money talks .....let battle commence .

Its got proper stairs , a bow thruster, a generator, a really posh Nav system to get baffled by,.
Wife hates the colour of the upholstery and among other complaints , it has insufficiant wardrobe space in the front bedroom. .........and even worse has steps down into the saloon. :(
It also has two transom doors which are bound to let in water and the boat is sure to sink.
So, a Broom then!

Phantom 43AC would fit the bill

Went to look at one of those 43 AC in Lincoln.
Had high hopes as had always fancied one of these.
The ascent to the Command Bridge from the pontoon certainly indicated how fit you were and once up there it was difficult to see much of the boat including most the side decks except for a small section of the forepeak, even when standing up , (am 6 2") virtually impossible to see anything aft on the swim platform.
This may have been due to the acres of blue canvas required to keep out the weather on the Command Bridge. :)
Cannot even recall if there was a helm inside the saloon, vision aft would have been nil.

The three vertiginous steps installed to get you down into the saloon from the bridge was the final coup de grâce .

Looks like the original upholstery……original fuel tanks ?……what is it you say…...80’s money pit that’s had none of the big ticket items addressed in anyone‘s ownership and the owner is looking at it through rose tinted glasses :)

Any boat will only ever be worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it, no matter however grand or humble
As for rose tinted glasses they fell off every single time a bill came in.
Merely need two things to do a deal a happy buyer and a contented seller.
OG looks forward to selling his boat to its new discerning owner who knows a bargain when he sees one.?

The 1980s "moneypit" is sold " ,actually just discovered it was a 1991 boat.
Did around 100 hours each year for six years with very little trouble, apart from a few wee minor contacts with hard bottoms.
Adverts on Ebay and Apolloduck did the trick.
4 serious inquiries in first couple of days and a very tempting offer from somebody of £1000 pounds. Somebody on the forum purhaps ! :)
First viewer had a sea trial and but then had some further "questions" he wanted answering.
Second viewer bought the boat on the spot.
Did insist we went for sea trial, it would be the last chance for a good WOT whizz and at somebody elses expence.
Unloading 6 or 7 car loads of junk only seemed to give about 1 knot.
Then had the not very nice job of having to ring round to two folks with the news the boat was now sold and also to cancel a viewing.
Now got to collect my new "moneypit" from Brighton, fortunately it has just been reupholstered and ( after at a dire warning ) hoping the fuel tanks hold out for the entire trip round to the Medway.
Will of course be wearing a brand new pair of rose tinted specs. :):):)
Anacasta at Brighton gave a first class service and it was pleasure to do business with them. They are sorting the VAT .
