Hi
Thinking about a Standard Horizon CP300i bundled with Atlantic Coast inc UK charts. The best price around seems to be Gael Force who are also good to deal with at £670 the bundle. My question is whether I could get a cheaper deal by waiting for say Boat Show Offers which are often available even not at being at the Boat Show or waiting for a post christmas lull in sales to cause a drop in prices which sometimes happens. This plotter is a bit dated now but has good resolution, is a decent size, links to AIS and is compatible with the Sitex Radar which is not expensive (and has good reports) as these things go.
My question is whether if I wait could I get a better deal than this or am I likely to get bitten by an annual price increase say in January and prices of these plotters actually go up?

I think that with the increasing competition from Ipads+navionics, the only way prices can go is downwards.

Look what happened to flat screen TVs - which essentially is the main component of a plotter

My couple of year old Raymarine e80 could be replaced by an e95.

Cost £2600 retail

Oh and I'd have to update the radar too at £1100 with the cable.

Goodbye Raymarine! I reckon if I seel the boat I'm keeping the electronics!

Have a look here: £519.95

And they have a new years sale the first week of January (I do not have any connection they are just our local shop)

I'm looking for a bargain.......

and hoping to find one at the Dusseldorf boatshow in January. We're in the process of fitting out our SO 32.2 for cruising in the Baltic starting next May (hopefully). VHF, AIS, SH 300i plotter, charts.

SVB, a large German chandlery, will have two stands there and have most of what we need. Fingers crossed they'll be generous in their discount if I can get all or most of what we need from them:D

No connection with SVB but hope to be a satisfied customer;)

I received their mailshot as an email but it only seems to refer to Garmin.
You can look on their website http://www.force4.co.uk/Article/321...2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NL1212-2-read.

As said Force4 are finally just bringing their prices down near to the competition, still can be got cheaper BUT wait for the boat show it will be cheaper still according to other suppliers.

I am waiting to get a Garmin 551S, last years deal was £391 :D (usually around £440)and a couple of dealers said they will be doing similar deals, just keep an eye on the websites during the show or give them a call ;)

Oh dear, you're not going to like this then...marinesuperstore, just down the road from you had the 551s for £299 last month. No idea why because thats a crazy price but it made me do a double take in the shop! It's £399 at their standard price so not sure why you're waiting to pay £10 entry then £391 for it when they are just down the road in Port Solent?

Thanks Lustyd - good news :D, looks like most of the stores have all just dropped their prices by £40 -£50. Marine superstore are saying they didn't have the 551s on at £299 it was probably the 451 that you saw.

Just called a couple of stores and they said the prices may go down over the boat show but they are not sure yet need to give them a call just before the show starts. They said prices definitely won't be going up - so best to wait!! Could get a bigger one with the saving, a Garmin 620 maybe.

I think you'll find a few offerings of Garmin units at good prices at the moment. Seems to be a bit of incentivising going on... :)

Shop around and see what the main players will offer you, pick up the phone and see what you can get! ;)

(£715 is a hand-biting price though! )

Was definitely the 551s on their screen, I don't think it was on purpose though but reckon I could have talked them into it as it was up on the screen in the shop. As I said I was surprised to see it at that price as I've been eying up the 441 for a while now which as you say is £299.
