any advice on manouvering a yacht with an inboard engine and with a single offset propellor

Not really, just practice I would say. I am guessing it is a sailing boat? If so you could try asking on scuttlebutt.

If you are looking at a traditional long keel with a 'wing' engine giving you the offset prop do not expect to have much if any control in reverse. Not much better at low speed going forard either.

The Fifer Astor has such a layout and the owner hates tight quarter maneuvering.
