2) AAIC Code
3) SSR Number

Port of Registry... Just what it says if part1 registered.

AAIC... The code of your radio accounting authority IE GB4 etc and only used if you send phone messages ashore to land lines using vhf or SSB through established shore stations. Most Yachts used YTD which is sort of reverse charges

SSR....... Small ships registry number if you are registered on the SSR.

You can leave these blank if they do not apply.

Same thing,

are we classed as a pleasure vessel in the use box, ?

Pleasure I could understand, but to me ,based on there other heading in that box, pleasure vessel is used for commercial pleasure trips.

Also why do you need all types of navel ships in boat type, does each captain have to apply for his ships license ?

As others have said ignore them. You have to fill in the fields marked with an * but those which dont apply to you (or which you dont understand) can be left blank.

You will have to guess gross tonnage figure however (basically thats the volume below decks in cu ft divided by 100, but I put in the displacement) you can always change it if necessary later.

BTW When you have got to the last page (P9) you have to click on "save Licence details" in order to proceed. God knows why they could not have used the "next" button (In fact even he would have difficulty with this form I suspect)

If you are using IE 7 make sure you have read the notes about how to over come the fact that Microsoft's default security settings do not allow you to download the licence. (OR temporarily reduce your overall security to "low", download the licence and reset it back to the original setting) No problem with earlier versions of IE though, or other browsers

Make sure you have read the notes about filling in the form and have the required info to hand as it will time out if you hesitate for too long. If necessary you can save a part completed application at any point though.
