Ofcom, again

Re: I asked \"my contact\" in Ofcom ...

itu international regulations require govt's to administer radio telecomms, and specific requirements for certain wavelenghs and uses etc.

Re: I asked \"my contact\" in Ofcom ...

Yes, I know it is an international requirement, but what does it actually achieve? Is it now regulation for regulation sake and would not the simple registration card idea not meet the obligation?

Re: I asked \"my contact\" in Ofcom ...

You'd have to go read the international regulations we've signed up to, and whether they have been incorporated in law in the UK. Most of these international regulations are. In which case they are usually fairly specific as to implementation.,

Re: I asked \"my contact\" in Ofcom ...

Got validation through from OfCom. Great difficulty with the interface, attempting to establish reference to my extant marine license. My amateur license was there, but no marine VHF.

Telephoned OfCom and helpline somewhat defused my irritation - but admitted a software bug was inhibiting the registration of the marine license. They will deal with it!

Changes at ofcom

Anyone who tried to register at the ofcom site over the last couple of weeks will see changes if they try again.
The java application has been replaced with a form.
ofcom have obviously had a dentist in to deal with the teething problems

Re: Changes at ofcom

I hope they have made the licence application easier to follow as well at least to progress on from the end of the 9page form.

I must have another look when I have nothing better to do!
