Does anyone know of a web-site which provides a step-by-step guide on producing an eye-splice in octoplait (anchorplait) rope? I have done one but it looks nothing like others I have now seen!

I bought some Greek octoplait, which was plain white with no markers in the yarns. I managed to splice it without reference to instructions - took several attempts. Later found the Jimmy Green website. If doing it again I'd mark the yarns if not already marked - it can get very confusing compared to splicing ordinary rope.
Everything you ever wanted, or need, to know about splicing.
