I bought my boat with a 6 yr old, Ocean Safety ISO Charter 4 man liferaft. It had never been serviced and was condemned for leaks, I just thought, oh well that's a grand down the drain.

They have just rung me up and said I'm getting a new replacement FOC. What a great company! Warms the cockles of your heart ;)

They'll get my business in 3 years time when my life raft is due its next service.

I've always been a staunch fan of Suffolk Sailing and have used them for at least 20 years but Graham who was a real gent sold the business and now its run by new (to me) people.
I picked my raft up last week and took the opportunity to check the detailed invoice they gave me which was somewhat larger than I have ever paid in the past.
Among sundry items such as charges for old flare disposal and a plastic banding strap, one item for £16 plus VAT stood out.
This was the new Plastimo sticker that now graces my raft canister. What!!! £16 for a sticker I asked.
Yes sir they said, because we are an authorised repair centre and supply a certificate of service we are audited by Plastimo and they insist on us using manufacturers supplied parts otherwise we lose accreditation.
Well we had a little discussion about this and to their credit they knocked that charge of the bill which made me slightly less miffed.

When I fitted the raft in its cradle today, in the recommended orientation I was not amused to find that they had stuck the label on upside down.
