oakum/ candlewick availability

I'd like to re-caulk my deck and a few 'gaps' in my hull and have managed to source the tools.
However, does anyone know what sort of establishment would sell oakum and candlewick?
Is plumbers oakum the same as boating oakum.
I'm new to caulking and boat repairing and don't have a clue about materials.
Can anyone help?
