The last anchor line I bought, less than a year ago, was twelve strand braided polyamide/nylon, 14mm, made by Kaya lines in Turkey. They happen to produce exactly the same line also in polyester, making it easy to compare the specifications.
Some key differences:
UV resistance: PE excellent, PA very good.
Elongation at break: PE 15-20 percent, PA 30-35 percent.
Fiber water absorption: PE 1-2 percent, PA 3-4 percent.
Wet abrasion: PE good, PA sufficient. (Dry abrasion both good)
Breaking load (14mm): PE 3,875, PA 4,250 kgf.
